Express Men's Basketball Clinches Post Season

Express Men's Basketball Clinches Post Season

The Wells Express men's basketball team has clinched a post-season birth and will participate in the United East Conference tournament!

This is the first time since the 2016-2017 season in which the Express have clinched a post-season birth.

"As a coaching staff, we are proud of what these young men have been able to accomplish thus far.  They are a talented group that also is one of the hardest working teams we have had here.  We look forward to the opportunity of representing Wells College in the postseason and competing against the best teams in the United East!  These student-athletes have set a tone for the program and we are excited to see what they accomplish this year and in the coming years." Head Coach Joe Wojtylko.

The Express leading scorers are Ransel Rodriguez who averages 16.1 points and 6.5 assists and Jarek Feliz who averages 15.2 points and 6.9 rebounds. "I don't think anyone on this team doubted us making playoffs, but it's one thing to make the postseason and it's another to make some noise in the postseason. We still have business to take care of" says sophomore guard Ransel Rodriguez. "We always knew this was going to happen, we just need to perform now that the moment is here," says sophomore Jarek Feliz.

This is a young Express team that will most likely head to Penn State Harrisburg, which has taken down the Express twice this year.

Team Captain Ty McBride gets his first shot at the postseason this year. "It is an honor to take part in the playoffs with this program, and team. The last time Wells basketball was in the conference playoffs was the 2016-2017 season. Going from 5-20 to playoffs the next year is amazing. I thank GOD for allowing me to take part in the change here and an opportunity to make history at Wells College. All Glory to GOD!"

The Express wraps up the regular season this Saturday at home when they host Penn State Abington at 1 pm.
