Men's Volleyball Drops Neutral Match to Hobart
Wells College men's volleyball took on the Hobart Statesman Friday afternoon at SUNY Potsdam for another non-conference game.
The Express hung with the 1-1 Statesmen playing them to a 15-15 tie in the first set. The Hobart offense began to pick up at that point and a few errors from the Express forced a timeout by the Express when they were down 23-20. Wells came out and scored five straight points capped off with a kill by Isayah Johnson to win the first set. The Express kept the second set close in the beginning, but Hobart eventually pulled away for a 25-18 win tying it up at 1 set a piece. In the third set, kills by Confidence Burrowes tried to keep the Express close. As the set went on, Hobart built a lead and won 25-19 taking a 2-1 set lead over Wells. Mason Moon started off the fourth set with an ace trying to set the tone for the Express. A few errors from Wells allowed Hobart to gain a lead that they never looked back on. The Express scored their lowest total of the match in the fourth set loss, 25-18.
Up next for Wells, they will host Hilbert and Sage on Saturday for a home tri-match.
