Men's Volleyball Falls To Conference Foe Hawks

Aurora, NY-

Wells College men's volleyball took on AMCC Conference rival Hawks of Hilbert College Wednesday, losing a close contest 4-1.  The Express were points away from forcing a decicive game five, only to fall short 21-25, 25-17, 21-25, 20-25.  The difference between 12 kills and five errors was the deciding factor in the matchup, leading to the Hawks win.  Wells had a balanced attack with seniors Connor Garvey and Billy McCrae leading the way; Garvey securing 18 kills and McCrae with 10.  Junior middle Confidence Burrowes was right behind the duo with nine kills, and led the way with five service aces.  Setter Mason Moon had 38 assists to keep the offense moving.  Defensively, Jacob Sehn seemed to be in the right place at the right time to hold off several attacks from Hilbert, finishing with 17 digs.  Garvey also had 17 digs, with Harrison Keena pulling out 12 of his own.

The Express are back at home on Saturday with a contest against Finger Lakes Community College, starting at 2pm.
