Pair Of Men's Volleyball Wins Sets School Record

The Wells College men's volleyball team won a pair of non-conference matches hosted by Elmira College on Saturday, March 30. The Express defeated The Sage Colleges in three sets and then took down Elmira in four sets. The victories improved Wells' record to 22-9 on the season which establishes a program-best single-season win total. The previous best mark of 21 wins was achieved in the 2018 season.

Wells will be back on court Tuesday, April 2 with a 7 p.m. home game against St. John Fisher.

WELLS 3, SAGE 0

Wells won by set scores of 25-17, 25-16, 25-20. The Express hit .432 in the match with 47 kills and 12 errors on 81 attempts. Josh Undari had 26 assists and Cooper Colesante had 15 assists.

Caden O'Loughlin led Wells with 14 kills and no errors. He hit .667 in the match. Robert Patzer had 11 kills and a .389 hitting percentage. O'Loughlin had five digs. Ryan Turner had four digs, one solo block, and two block assists. Wells served eight aces with three from Patzer and two from Undari.

WELLS 3, ELMIRA 1

Set scores were 25-17, 25-19, 20-25, 25-16. The Express hit .333 or better in each of the sets it won.

Josh Undari had 43 assists on 52 Wells kills as the Express hit .308 in the match. Undari also served four aces.

Robert Patzer had 16 kills and Caden O'Loughlin had 14 kills. O'Louglin added nine digs, two solo blocks, and a block assist. Ryan Turner had two solo blocks and two block assists. Patzer led Wells 13 digs.

Wells had 18 kills and two errors in the first-set victory. In the second set, Wells trailed 10-7 before putting together a 9-1 run to take control. The fourth set saw Wells have 12 kills and Elmira had 10 hitting errors.
