Massive Defensive Effort Falls Short as Men's Volleyball is Defeated by Behrend
AURORA - The Express defense has been spectacular over the last couple games, unfortunately those games have come against some very tough AMCC competition. Wednesday night was no different, as the Wells men's volleyball squad fell to Penn St. Behrend 3 sets to none despite having 3 players notch double-digit digs.
Reigning AMCC Defensive Player of the Week Jacob Sehn was back in top form, as he flushed out attacks left-and-right on his way to recording a game-high 11 digs. Sehn has ratcheted up the defense recently, bolstering his impressive defensive resume by once again far exceeding his digs-per-set mark as he stopped 3.6 attacks per set on Wednesday night.
Other Express players got in on the action too, protecting the court well against a wave of Lion attackers.
Qulik Evans and Connor Garvey were two such players, as they each logged 10 digs, propelling the Express defense with a variety of well-timed placements.
Garvey also continued his trend of all-around versatility, as he rocketed down 7 kills in addition to his outstanding defensive numbers.
Fellow senior Billy McCrae slammed down 8 kills of his own, having a good game in one of his final home appearences for the Express with Senior Day looming on Saturday.
Sophomore setter Mason Moon had a great game on defense as well, recording 9 digs.
The Express will be back on Saturday for one final homestand, as they host Carlow and Wilkes in a tri-match at the Schwartz Athletic Center. Senior Day festivities will take place before the final game.
