The Wells College men's volleyball team lost in three sets at St. John Fisher on Tuesday, Feb. 5. Set scores were 25-15, 25-23, 25-19 in favor of the Cardinals. Wells is 7-3 on the season and St. John Fisher is also 7-3.
St. John Fisher hit .556 in the opening set and raced to a 25-15 win. In the second set, Wells rallied from a 17-13 deficit to take a 20-18 advantage. Fisher scored seven of the final 10 points to win 25-23. Wells charged back from a 20-12 deficit in the third set to make it 21-17, but the Cardinals closed out the match in three.
Wells hit .090 in the match with 33 kills and 26 errors. Caden O'Loughlin had 15 kills and Joe Zimmerman had eight kills with eight digs. Josh Undari had 32 assists. Zimmerman added one solo block and one block assist.
Wells will be back in action Saturday, Feb. 9 for a pair of matches at SUNY Poly. The Express faces SUNY Poly at noon and then takes on Rivier at 2 p.m. Sunday, Wells will play at Saint Elizabeth at noon.
