Men's Volleyball Wins In Three Over Daemen

The Wells College men's volleyball team cruised to a three-set win at Daemen College on Tuesday, Feb. 26. Wells won by set scores of 25-17, 25-16,  25-17. Wells improved to 11-6 overall this season in the victory over Daemen, a first-year program competing in NCAA Division II. Daemen is 3-8 overall.

Wells jumped out to a 12-5 lead in the first set and grew its advantage to 10 points at 18-8. Robert Patzer had two kills in the last three Wells points to clinch the opening set.

Wells had a .772 hitting percentage in the second set with 14 kills and one error in 18 attacks.

Caden O'Loughlin had two kills and four service aces in the decisive third set.

Wells hit .455 in the match with 41 kills and 11 errors. Patzer had 13 kills and a .688 hitting percentage for the Express. He served one ace and added six digs.

O'Loughlin finished with nine kills, four aces and five digs. Josh Undari had 35 assists. Joe Zimmerman had seven kills and six digs.

Wells hosts a six-team, two-day tournament this weekend at the Schwartz Athletic Center. Matches will take place on two courts on Friday, March 1 at 4, 6, and 8 p.m. and on Saturday, March 2 at noon, 2, and 4 p.m.
