Men's Volleyball Plays Tri-Match at Wilkes College, Garvey Reaches 500 Career Kills

Wilkes-Barre, P.A.-

Wells College men's volleyball team traveled to Wilkes College Saturday to compete in a tri-match with Widener University and host Wilkes College.  A record day for Senior outside hitter Connor Garvey as he reaches 500 career kills versus Wilkes College; Wells lost 0-3 to Widener and 1-3 to Wilkes.

Wells College vs Widener University (10-25, 19-25, 16-25)

Widener jumped out ot an early lead in Games 1 and 3 that the Express couldn't battle back from.  Game 2 was a strong showing for Wells, who got down early 0-6 but battled back to tie the game at 16-16, but couldn't hold on.  Leading the way with kills for the Express was Connor Garvey with six.  Mason Moon had 13 assists and six digs, Jacob Sehn had five digs.

Wells College vs Wilkes College (22-25, 25-22, 22-25, 21-25)

A closely contested match had Wilkes taking the first game with the Express battling back to take Game 2.  The next two games went back and forth with Wilkes edging Wells out to take the wins.  Connor Garvey led the Express with 12 kllls, which put him over the 500 mark on career kills.  Harrison Keena had 11 kills and Confidence Burrowes had 10.  Mason Moon had 33 assists and a service ace, sophomore Sean Nemeth had three service aces.  Keena and first year Jacob Sehn led the team with 16 digs each.

The Express are back in action at Houghton on Wednesday, February 14th at 7:00pm.
