The No. 6 Wells College men's volleyball team defeated visiting SUNY Potsdam and Keuka College by 3-0 scores on Saturday, Feb. 15.
The Express opened the day with a 25-6 first-set win over Potsdam before giving a majority of the starters a rest in finishing off the Bears with set wins of 25-23 and 25-20.
Robert Patzer led the team in kills with seven with an attacking percentage at .600. Jackson Lieber and Walker Nichols each recorded a team-high five digs, while a pair of blocks each came from Cooper Colesante, Lieber and Patzer. Darean Schug served up a pair of aces.
Against Keuka, Wells won by set scores of 25-17, 25-20 and 25-18, respectively. Again, Patzer led the way on the attack with a dozen kills, while also producing a team-high seven digs. Of the team's eight aces, a combined five of those came from Josh Undari (three) and Caden O'Loughlin (two).
The Express travel to Buffalo next weekend with two matches against NCAA D-II Daemen with the first match at 12 p.m. followed by a 3 p.m. bout.
