NEAC Defensive Honor For O'Loughlin
Wells College men's volleyball sophomore Caden O'Loughlin was selected as the North Eastern Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending March 11, 2018.
Over three matches on the week, O'Loughlin totaled 28 digs and five blocks as Wells went 2-1 with victories over Penn State Behrend and Alvernia University. In the home win against Behrend, O'Loughlin had 13 digs and two block assists. For the week, O'Loughlin had 2.8 digs per set and helped the offense with 33 kills and three service aces.
O'Loughlin is the third different Wells player to earn NEAC Defensive Player of the Week honors this year, joining Kevin Batmunkh (Jan. 22) and Josh Undari (Feb. 19). Additionally, Brannon Perdicho has been selected as NEAC Player of the Week twice (Jan. 29 and Feb. 26).
Caden is a sophomore from Louisville, Ky. He is majoring in computer science with a minor in mathematics.
Wells is 13-6 on the season and 1-0 in the NEAC. The team returns to conference action this weekend with a Saturday, March 17 match at Medaille and a Sunday, March 18 match at Keuka.
