NEAC Defensive Award For O'Loughlin
Wells College men's volleyball junior Caden O'Loughlin earned North Eastern Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors for the week ending Jan. 27. O'Loughlin and the Express are off to a 4-2 start through six matches this season.
O'Loughlin has totaled 53 digs in six matches to start the 2019 season. The junior outside hitter recorded double-digits in digs with 17 against D'Youville and 10 against Geneva. O'Loughlin also had three solo blocks and five block assists. In addition to his defensive efforts, O'Loughlin has also been a major contributor for the Wells' offense with 82 kills, four assists and 10 aces in his first six matches.
O'Loughlin is majoring in computer science and mathematics, and is from Louisville, Kentucky.
O'Loughlin is a two-time all-conference selection and has won three career NEAC weekly awards. He was Defensive Player of the Week twice during the 2018 season.
Wells is in action this weekend at the Nazareth Invitational.
