O'Loughlin Is NEAC Men's Volleyball Player of the Week

Caden O'Loughlin of the Wells College men's volleyball team earned conference recognition for the second straight week as he was selected as the North Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 3, 2019.

In the last week, O'Loughlin set a school record, helped Wells to three wins, and was named to an all-tournament team. The junior outside hitter had 12 kills in a sweep against Hiram before setting a Wells single-match record with 31 kills in a win over Elms, which received votes in the last three AVCA national rankings and was ranked 15th in the AVCA preseason poll.

O'Loughlin closed out the weekend with 23 kills against Thiel to help the Express earn a five-set victory. In three matches, O'Loughlin had a .331 hitting percentage and averaged 5.50 kills per set. He also had six service aces, 29 digs and four total blocks to earn a spot on Nazareth College Golden Flyer Invitational all-tournament team.

O'Loughlin was the NEAC Defensive Player of the Week for the first set of weekly awards this season and has totaled four NEAC weekly awards in his career. He majors in computer science and mathematics, and is from Louisville, Kentucky.

Wells has a 7-3 overall record through 10 matches this season and plays Saturday, Feb. 9 at SUNY Poly and against Rivier University at SUNY Poly.
