Patzer, O'Loughlin Take Men's Volleyball Weekly Awards

Two Wells College men's volleyball student-athletes earned weekly honors from the North Eastern Athletic Conference for the week ending March 17, 2019. Robert Patzer was the NEAC Player of the Week and Caden O'Loughlin was the NEAC Defensive Player of the Week. The tandem helped Wells to three wins in four matches.

Robert Patzer, a sophomore from Syracuse, N.Y., led Wells with 48 kills over four matches. Patzer began the week with 16 kills, two service aces, two digs and four total blocks in a five-set loss to Lancaster Bible. He also hit double-digits in kills against Penn State Behrend with 15. Patzer finished the week with 56 points, seven assists, three service aces, 16 digs, eight blocks and a .337 hitting percentage. It is his first NEAC weekly honor of the season.

Caden O'Loughlin, a junior from Louisville, Ky., is the NEAC Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season after averaging 1.85 digs per set last week. The junior outside hitter helped the Express go 3-1 on the week with 24 digs, including 10 against conference opponents. O'Loughlin also recorded three solo blocks and three block assists. In addition to his defensive numbers, O'Loughlin contributed 44 kills, eight assists and five service aces. It is the fifth NEAC weekly award for O'Loughlin this season.

Wells is 18-7 overall and 3-2 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference. The Express have two conference matches this weekend, Saturday, March 23 at Lancaster Bible College and Sunday, March 24 at Wilson College.
