Wells College men's basketball hit the road for a tournament this weekend at the College of New Jersey.
In the first game of the tournament, the Express drew Hunter University who was 1-2 on the year so far. At the end of the first half Wells College found themselves down three points after going 3-13 from three, and being out-rebounded by Hunter 25-23. In the second half, the Express fell behind by 8 points until battling back to take a 41-40 lead on a Don'Ye Johnson jumper. As the game came to a close, Terrance Clayton-Murphy laid in a layup assisted by Chase Welch to tie the game at 64 with about 1 minute left. After a defensive stop, Clayton-Murphy created another layup to give Wells a 2-point lead. Don'Ye Johnson was then able to seal the victory with two late free throws to give men's basketball their first win of the season.
