McCrae's 27 Points Leads Express Past The Mustangs

Wells College men's basketball hit the road for Morrisville, NY to take on the SUNY Morrisville Mustangs Tuesday night. The Express won this one 83-71.

The Wells Express needed this win in order to leapfrog over the Mustangs in the conference standings in hopes of securing a postseason birth. Earlier in the season, the Mustangs took down the Express in Aurora 88-49.

The Express opened this game up on a 14-5 run over their host. Terrance Clayton-Murphy knocked down two 3-pointers to force a time-out from the Mustangs. Morrisville would battle back to be down 1 (14-13) but the Express offense would pull away and go on a 33-16 run to end the half a grab a 47-29 lead at the break. Morrisville would push their way back into this one cutting the lead down to single digits a few times. Thanks to timely baskets from Billy McCrae who had 27 points on the night, and Ransel Rodriguez who had 10 assists and 16 rebounds the Mustangs were never able to mount an actual comeback. Wells College secures a BIG win on the road.

Men's basketball will head to Gallaudet on Friday for another conference match-up.
