Men's Basketball Falls to Redhawks Despite Strong First Half

Wells College men's basketball lost on the road Saturday to the Redhawks of La Roche University 70-99 in an AMCC conference game, despite a strong first half and perfect shooting from junior guard Evan Hauser. Hauser scored 13 points in 23 minutes of play whlie being perfect from the floor.  He shot 4 for 4 for the night, including from the 3-point arc making all three attempts, and 100% from the free throw line. The AMCC leading Redhawks jumped out to a 7-0 lead, but the Express mounted their comback with a 12-3 run of thier own to take lead at the 13:03 mark in the first half.  The back and forth scoring contiuned until just under the 2:00 mark when La Roche started to mount a lead to head into the break.  The second half had the Redhawks pulling away to finish the game.  Leading scorers for Wells was Terrance Clayton-Murphy with 20 points, Hauser with 13 points and Billy McCrae with 10 points.  

Wells finishes out thier road games on Wednesday at Hilbert College on Wednesday, February 14th at 7pm.
