Men's Basketball takes Down Abington At Home

Wells College men's basketball hosted Penn State Abington Saturday afternoon for another conference match-up at the Schwartz Athletic Center. Wells won this one in a thriller 62-60.

The Express shot a scorching hot 57% from the field and 50% from three in the first half. On the other end of the floor, they held the visitors to just 33% from the floor even though they were out-rebounded by the Lions 21-13. Terrance Clayton-Murphy added 15 points in the first half along with 3 steals. Wells College would lead by as many as 16 in the first half but the Lions would not go away and cut the lead to 10 points at halftime (41-31). The second half became a very physical game with the Lions clawing back into this one and cutting the lead to just 4 (60-56) with 2 minutes left. After a turnover by the Express, Abington would tie this one up at 60 with 30 seconds left and they had the ball. Coming out of a timeout, the Lions would turn the ball over and Clayton-Murphy would seal the victory with 2 big foul shots.

The Express improves to 10-8 on the season and 5-4 in the conference moving up to 4th place.

Men's basketball will be at Penn College Tuesday evening.
