Men's Basketball Defeats Hilbert At Home

Wells College men's basketball hosted their future conference foe the Hilbert Hawks in a non-conference match-up Tuesday night. The Express dominated this one, 88-73.

Five minutes into the first half the score was knotted up at 11. Ransel Rodriguez layed in a couple of layups and knocked down a few free throws to help the Express gain a 20-16 advantage. As the Hawks tried to storm back, Billy McCrae would drop 18 first-half points on 7-9 shooting while swatting away 4 shots on the defensive end. The Express carried a 48-39 lead into halftime. 

In the second half, had 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.  it was two different scorers for the Express leading the way. Ivan Oduro-Dompreh had 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Terrance Clayton-Murphy had 12 points and 4 rebounds. Together they scored 23 of the Express 40 second-half points. As the Express built a lead up to as much as 20, down the stretch they were able to maintain ball control and make smart plays to secure this home victory. 

Men's basketball will be back home Friday when they host Houghton university.
