Alfred State Outguns Women's Basketball In Second Half

The Wells College women's basketball team went on the road and lost 78-57 at Alfred State on Tuesday, Nov. 13.

The game was close throughout the first half. Wells trailed by two points after the first quarter and by just five points at halftime. Alfred State led 30-25 at the half, and started to pull away with a 24-17 advantage in the third quarter. The Pioneers closed things out with a 24-15 edge in the fourth quarter to take a 21-point victory.

Shelby Medovich led Wells with 22 points and Carley Ryan added 18 points. Medovich was 8-for-8 at the free-throw line as part of a strong team performance at the line in which Wells converted 14 of 18 free-throw attempts. Ryan was 4-for-6 at the line and Diamonne Harris was 2-for-2.

Alfred State had a 47-31 rebounding advantage. Jordan Jacobs led Wells with six rebounds.

Wells is back home Saturday, Nov. 17 for a noon home game against Utica College at the Schwartz Athletic Center.
