Women’s Basketball Team Finishes Strong at Morrisville

The Wells College women's basketball team put up 13 points in the fourth quarter and more than doubled the fourth quarter total of its opposition against host Morrisville State on Wednesday, Jan. 15. It was the fifth consecutive game that the Express either matched or recorded its highest quarter total in the final quarter.

Morrisville built up a big enough lead through the first three quarters to carry them to victory in a 79-31 game. Jordan Jacobs and Maritza Scharoun had the best night of all the Wells players. Jacobs posted a team-high 17 points, led the team in rebounds with six, blocks with two and co-led the team in assists with a pair. Scharoun finished with seven points, five boards and two assists.

Also with a pair of assists was Maeghan Westmiller, while Lorissa Parks added a pair of points and Jennifer McCumber registered a free throw.

After five-consecutive road games, the women's basketball team returns home to face Cobleskill State on Jan. 18 at 3 p.m.
