Wells College women's basketball hosted the Hilbert Hawks on Tuesday afternoon. The Hilbert Hawks are a future conference opponent of the Express, and defeated the Express at home, 64-25.
The Hawks jumped way ahead of the Express at the start grabbing an 18-0. Ai Orita broke the drought scoring her first points of the game. Despite the best efforts of the Express, the Hawks continued to build a lead going into halftime with a 34-9 lead.
In this second half, the Express would almost double their scoring output of the first half. Scarlett Lonsky would contribute 4 points off the bench and Morgan Adams through in 8. This was not enough to take down the Hawks and their high-powered offense.
Women's Basketball will be on the road Thursday at Utica University.
