NITTANY LIONS TROUNCE EXPRESS

(Harrisburg, Pa.)─ The Wells College women's basketball team ran into a tough Penn. St. Harrisburg team, falling 84-37 in North Eastern Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon in Harrisburg, Pa. Monet Cunningham led four Nittany Lions in double-figures with 18 points. The loss drops the Express to 4-20 (4-17 NEAC), while the Nittany Lions improve to 17-7 (16-5 NEAC).
 
Contributing for the Express were Ashley Roser (Taberg, N.Y./Camden) with nine points and 13 rebounds, Rachel Mattraw (Chaumont, N.Y./Lyme Central) with eight points and five rebounds, and Kristen Ryan (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden) with six points and five rebounds.
 
The Express played tough to start and would trail by as little as five (18-13) with less than ten minutes to play in the first half. However, the Nittany Lions defense picked up their play, and the offense took off on a 28-3 run, closing the half with a commanding 46-16 lead.
 
The Nittany Lions continued their hot shooting in the second half, cruising to the conference victory.
 
The Express return to action in their season finale tomorrow against the Gallaudet Bison in Washington, D.C. The game is set to tip-off at 12:00 p.m.
