Women's Lacrosse Host La Roche For Season Finale

In a tough home matchup, the Wells College women's lacrosse team fell to the visiting La Roche University RedHawks by a final score of 15-8.

The game got off to a promising start for Wells in the first quarter, with Clara Lima, Julia Barnwell, and Lydia Thomas all finding the back of the net to give the Express an early lead. In the second quarter, Clara Lima and Olivia Garcia both scored to keep the Express ahead distance, but La Roche added another two goals before time expired in the half. The Express were up 7-3 at the half.

Wells continued to fight in the second half. Julia Barnwell notched her second goal of the game in the third quarter to keep the Express ahead of the RedHawks, but La Roche's offense proved too potent to contain. The visitors scored another eight goals in the final frame to secure the 15-8 victory.

Although the final score was not in their favor, Wells can take heart in their strong individual performances. Clara Lima led the way with two goals, while Julia Barnwell finished with a team-high three goals on the day. Lydia Thomas and Olivia Garcia also chipped in with one goal apiece.

This caps off the season for the women's lacrosse team who finished with a record of 2-9 and 0-5 in the conference.

Congratulations to our seniors, Scarlett Lonsky, Caitlin Brockner, and Morgan Adams and thank you to your dedication to the Wells College women's lacrosse program.
