Women’s Lacrosse Posts 19-0 Loss To Keuka

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Wells College women's lacrosse team was saddled with a 19-0 loss to the Storm of Keuka College on Tuesday at the Jephson Complex. With the loss, Wells dips to 3-7 overall and to 3-4 within the North Eastern Athletic Conference. Keuka improves to 11-2 and possesses an unblemished 7-0 record against league opponents.

In this evening's game played under the lights, Wells was held without a goal for the first time dating back to 20-0 loss to St. Lawrence on Apr. 28, 2007. Additionally, the Express offense did not generate a single shot for the first time since a 25-0 loss to Ithaca College at Schoellkopf Field on Mar. 9, 2007.

Keuka built up a 13-0 halftime lead and didn't let up in the second half of play, using only two substitutes off of the bench and scoring six more goals in the tilt's final 30 minutes. Four different players scored three goals for Keuka while Maggie Bonafede led all players with six points off of two goals and four assists (2-4=6).

Sophomore Bri'Anna Horne (Baltimore, Md.) led all Wells players with four caused turnovers and four ground balls.

Senior Chelsea Dann (Flagstaff, Ariz.) allowed 16 goals before yielding to freshman Brooke Spanbauer (Niagara Falls, N.Y.) who made both of her team's saves down the stretch. Korie Fitzgerald and Samantha Peacock split time in goal for Keuka – neither backstop faced a shot from the Wells offense.

The Express return to action Wednesday, Apr. 23 as they host the Kangaroos of SUNY Canton at 5:00 p.m. at the South Athletic Field.
