Fourth Win In A Row For Women's Lacrosse

The Wells College women's lacrosse team won its fourth game in a row and wrapped up the regular season with a 17-8 win at Medaille College on Saturday, April 27. The victory improved Wells' record to 8-5 overall and 6-3 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference.

Wells clinched fourth place in the NEAC standings and will host a conference playoff game Tuesday against Cazenovia College.

The Express trailed 3-0 and 5-2 in the first half, but closed the first half with a 4-1 run and the game was tied 6-6 at halftime. Medaille scored first in the second half to regain the lead, but Wells answered with 11 goals in a row over a span of 18 minutes to cruise home with the win.

Wells had a 41-20 advantage in shots including a 22-8 advantage in the second half.

Mackenzie Maloney factored on 14 of the 17 Wells goals with six goals and eight assists. Savanah Connors had eight goals and an assist. Julia Smith, Miranda Mingen, and Renee Bartosz scored the other Wells goals.

Anna Bozeat had four saves.
