Van Horn Named Head Softball Coach

Director of Athletics and Physical Education, Mike Lindberg is pleased to announce that Grace Van Horn has been named Head Softball Coach for the Wells College Express.

Quote from Grace: "I would like to thank Wells College for giving me this opportunity to coach at the collegiate level.  I look forward to working with each member of the team and building a strong foundation dedicated to re-establishing the tradition of success for the Express softball program."

A celebrated pitcher of Union Springs High School, Van Horn was named twice an All-State selection; three-time ESPN Softball Athlete of the Year; four-time Citizen Softball All-Star; the first softball student-athlete in the district history to be offered a scholarship to play at the NCAA Division I level where she played for St. Bonaventure University and later NAIA Division II Oklahoma Baptist University.

Since graduating with a degree in Political Science and an MBA, Van Horn has pursued her passion for the sport of softball by coaching at several levels including pitching coach for Southern Cayuga High School and the U17 Red Wave Travel team who won the 2021 district championship.

The 2023 softball team is a member of the United East Conference and opens up play on March 22nd against Medaille College.
