Express Athletes of the Week for April 1 - 7
Hannah Lamont and Aaron Izquierdo have been named as your Express Athletes of the Week for the week of April 1st - April 7th.
Lamont was selected due to her incredible and historical performance on Saturday which earned her the AMCC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week Award.
The fantastic first year's OPOTW win marks the 4th-straight week that an Express player has taken home the honor, a whole month of Express excellence. The Albany, NY native nabbed seven goals and two assists in the Express' 17-11 victory over the Redhawks on Saturday. Along with her scoring output, she also secured 15 draw controls, shooting her total on the year to 93, and breaking the single season Wells record for draw controls (78) with at least six games left to play in the 2024 season. Lamont ranks fifth in all of Division III Women's Lacrosse for draw controls per game with 10.33 and has been the central pillar of an Express draw unit that places seventh in DIII for draw controls per game with 18.00. That same Express draw unit also currently holds the #1 draw control win percentage in DIII, sporting a 74.7% draw win rate.

Izquierdo has been selected for his great leadership and amazing offensive output that led the Express to a weekend sweep of Pitt. - Greensburg.
Izquierdo was electric during a week which saw him achieve great offensive numbers for an Express team that ranks very highly in the AMCC for lots of different statistical categories. The senior from Palisades Pk, NJ batted .467 with 4 RBI, a home run, and 2 stolen bases. His home run on Monday against Hilbert not only gave the Express a 3-2 lead, but also vaulted Izquierdo over the 100 career hits mark, a feat only achieved by 5 other Express greats. Izquierdo's stolen bases also added to a rapidly growing total team stolen bases number that has already solidified this Express squad as the most vaunted stealing team in the program's history with 69 steals. Izquierdo is currently batting .388, an extremely impressive mark.
