Thomas and Spiegel Receive AMCC Player of the Week Nods

Express senior duo Lydia Thomas and Lauren Spiegel have received this week's AMCC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week awards. Thomas, the offensive winner, notches her 2nd straight week as the recipient of the honor. It is also her 3rd time achieving the feat this season. For Spiegel, it is her 2nd time being bestowed the title this season.

Lydia Thomas had another strong week for an Express team that picked up victories over Hilbert and Mount Aloysius en-route to securing a 6-0 conference record and the 2024 AMCC Regular Season Title. During the three-game week, Thomas kept up her streak of offensive dominance, scoring nine goals and recording five assists while also nabbing 13 ground balls to pair with five draw controls. In the two title-clinching performances vs the Hawks and Mounties, Thomas found the cage for seven scores and five assists to go along with some excellent marks in the field as she tallied eight ground balls and three draw controls. Thomas and the Express locked up the #1 seed in the AMCC tournament.

Lauren Spiegel had a strong defensive week for an Express team that defeated Hilbert and Mount Aloysius to finish AMCC play with a 6-0 record and become the 2024 AMCC Regular Season Champions. In the two conference matchups, Spiegel made 10 saves and posted a 58.8% save percentage while only allowing seven goals for a 3.68 goals allowed average. Spiegel's excellent control in front of the pipes allowed the Express to secure the AMCC Regular Season Crown. Spiegel and the Express will be the #1 seed in the upcoming AMCC Women's Lacrosse Tournament.
