Williams & Zimmerman Earn NEAC Men's Volleyball Player of the Week Awards

LATHAM, N.Y. – The No. 10 (AVCA Coaches Poll) Express swept the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Men's Volleyball Players of the Week honors as Justin Williams and Joe Zimmerman each produced standout performances. For Zimmerman, it was his first NEAC weekly honor this season. Williams collected his second NEAC weekly honor of the season tying him with teammates Caden O'Loughlin and Robert Patzer, who each have also been recognized with two NEAC weekly honors this season.

Justin Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y.) earns the Player of the Week honor after leading the Express to pair of road wins against NCAA Division II-Independent opponent Daemen College, that snapped Daemen College's seven-game winning streak.

The sophomore middle hitter combined for 21 kills on a 54 percent hitting percentage in two matches, adding five blocks, four digs, two aces and two assists this past Saturday.  Both matches went the distance of five sets. Williams totaled 26.5 points on the day.

Joe Zimmerman (Fairport, N.Y.) picks up Defensive Player of the Week honors after tallying 20 digs and three blocks (two solo) in helping to defeat the Wildcats twice. Zimmerman also contributed 22 kills and 27.5 points.

Wells College (18-3) improved its winning streak to four straight and finished the month of February with a 10-1 record with no losses to NCAA Division-III opponents.
