Express Women's Lacrosse Sweeps AMCC Weekly Honors for Third Straight Week
For the 3rd week in a row, Express women's lacrosse has taken home BOTH the AMCC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week Awards. Adding to an already incredible season full of many amazing moments and achievements, Monday's award wins were the 5th and 6th straight weekly honors collected by the Wells women, and the most amazing part; each award has been won by a different player.
This week it was outstanding senior goalkeeper Lauren Spiegel and fierce first year Jade Epp who achieved the AMCC Weekly win, with Spiegel collecting the defensive award for her lights-out goalkeeping, and Epp earning the offensive award for her grand goal contributions in the Express' 2 wins this past week.
Lauren Spiegel had an outstanding week for an Express defense that currently ranks #1 in all of Division III Women's Lacrosse in goals allowed per game. In a midweek win vs SUNY Poly, she used her net, stick, and even her cleats to shutdown a plethora of Wildcat attacks en-route to a 19-save performance. Spiegel also recorded her 300th save during the win on Wednesday. She followed it up on Saturday by having another strong showing in front of the cage, logging four saves and only allowing two goals in a huge debut win for the Express in the AMCC over Mount Aloysius. Spiegel has a spotless record of 8-0 on the year, and is part of an Express goalkeeping unit that ranks first in all of DIII for save % at .630.

Jade Epp had an impressive scoring week for an Express team that ranks eighth for scoring offense in all of Division III Women's Lacrosse with 17.12 goals per game. Epp contributed eight goals and two assists last week in two big wins against SUNY Poly and Mount Aloysius which kept Wells undefeated at 8-0 and also launched them to 1-0 start in AMCC play. Epp was integral around the opposing cage for the Express, scoring most of her goals by barreling her way around the cage and finding the smallest openings to put home each of her eight scores. Epp also added three ground balls on the week.
