This week's edition of the weekly Express Athletics interview with Between The Lines will feature a segment from women's lacrosse team captain Lauren Spiegel as she joins host Nick Karski to discuss the Express' amazing 2024 season and how much the program has grown over the course of Spiegel's 4 years in Aurora.

The team has had a brilliant year so far, getting out to an 11-0 record and remaining undefeated all the way through even their Senior Day, which occured this past Saturday vs La Roche.

There are currently only 2 undefeated teams left in all of Division III Women's Lacrosse; #1 nationally-ranked Middlebury - and the Express. 

Spiegel has been a major part of this success, leading a Wells goalkeeping unit that ranks extremely high in many different national statistical categories. Here are some of the statistical highlights for Spiegel and the Express defense:

1st in D3 for Save Percentage at 58.2%.

1st in Scoring Defense with 3.73 Goals Allowed/Game.

1st in Scoring Margin at +14.45.

Tied for 1st in Win Percentage at 100% (Middlebury is the only other undefeated team).

Spiegel also ranks highly in a couple national categories. She sports the 2nd best Goals Allowed Average with 5.12 Goals Allowed/Game (34 Total). She also holds the 12th best Save Percentage in D3 at 50.7%.

Spiegel and the Express will have a busy week as they try to hold off 3 different challengers looking to hand Wells their first loss. This gauntlet begins with a tough road trip on Tuesday at a 7-2 Bryn Athyn.
