On Wednesday night the Wells College Express women's lacrosse team hit the road to SUNY Morrisville for an evening United East match-up.
This was the first time this season that the two teams faced off. The Express were 3-10 on the season and 1-3 in the conference. They looked to finish their season strong today on the road against the Mustangs.
The start of the game unfortunately did not go in a positive direction for the Express. Early in the first quarter, Wells College found themselves down 5-0. However, Clara Lima would score twice in the 5th minute alone to try and pull the Express back into this one making the score 5-2. Those would be the only two goals the Express were able to score in the first half but Lauren Spiegel would come up with 10 saves on the day. In the second half, Clara Lima would score once again and Kayla Rowell would score twice to cap the Express scoring off at 5 goals. The Mustangs however would win this one at home by a score of 19-5.
Express Stat Leaders:
Clara Lima- 3 Goals
Kayla Rowell- 2 Goals
