Taylor Named Head Athletic Trainer

Jason Taylor has been named the Head Athletic Trainer for the intercollegiate athletics department at Wells College, announced Director of Athletics and Physical Education Mike Lindberg.

Taylor, MS, ATC, CSCS, oversees the department's goals to administer a positive, healthy experience for student-athletes in preparation, competition, and recovery.

Taylor most recently worked in collegiate athletics at Hudson Valley Community College, while also providing his athletic training knowledge and expertise to various corporate venues. Taylor has also been employed as a personal trainer at several health venues for clients that age in range from 8-80, while also teaching first aid and CPR classes. During past summer months, Taylor also aided St. Lawrence University's head athletic trainer during camps.

Taylor earned a Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training at Ithaca College and a Master of Science (MS) in kinesiology from Western Illinois University. After completing his undergraduate work, Taylor covered all sports for one of the largest high school districts in New York at the Class A level.

Taylor has conducted research for professional publications NSCA Coach and the Eastern Athletic Trainers' Association. Taylor has also presented his research in 2020 at the NSCA National Convention and the Graduate Research Conference.

In addition to his ATC (certified athletic trainer) and CSCS (certified strength and conditioning specialist) distinctions, Taylor also holds memberships with NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) and NATA (National Athletic Trainers Association).
