2022 Allegheny Empire Championships Recap!
Last week the Wells College swimming teams wrapped up their seasons at the Allegheny Empire swimming championships.
This was a 4 -day event and the Express participated every day with big outcomes!
On day 1 of the competition, Rowan Mayette, Feleesha Jones, Nicole D'Aurizio, and Jess Boeheim competed in the 200 medley relay and secured 8th place. Maria Mironova, Alexis Huff, Liz Decker, and Rowan Mayette were in the 800 FR relay and took 7th place!
Day 2 brought a lot more action. In to 50 free, both Kevin Reilly and Maria Mironova recorded a personal best time! In the 200 individual medleys, Nicole D'Aurizio, Alexis Huff, and Qulik Evans all recorded a personal best time! Hailey Onofre, Alexis Huff, Nicole D'Aurizio, and Rowan Mayette were in the 200 FR relay and took 8th place. Finally, in the 500 free, Liz Decker placed 20th while Jess Boeheim set a season-best for herself!
Saturday was day 3 of the competition! In the 100 fly, Rowan Mayette finished 13th while Alexis Huff finished 16th. Qulik Evans set a personal record in the 100 fly as well! For the 200 FR, Nicole D'Aurizio finished 17th, Jess Boeheim finished 19th, and Maria Mironova finished 20th. Liz Decker and Jude Nash set personal records in the 100 back stroke and Rowan Mayette finished 18th. For the 100 breast stroke, Hailey Onofre finished 14th and Feleesha Jones finished 17th! Lastly, in the 400 medley relay, Liz Decker, Hailey Onofre, Alexis Huff, and Maria Mironova finished 8th.
The championships wrapped up Sunday with lots of action! in the 1650 freestyle, Liz Decker finished 16th. In the 200 back stroke, Rowan Mayette finished 14th. For the 200 BR, Hailey Onofre finished 16th and Feleesha Jones finished 17th. Hailey Onofre, Alexis Huff, Nicole D'Aurizio, and Rowan Mayette finished 8th in the 400 freestyle relay. Finally, in the 100 freestyle, Nicole D'Aurizio finished 18th, Alexis Huff set a personal record, Kevin Reilly set a personal record, Jude Nash set a personal record, and Jess Boeheim recorded a season-best time!
As a team, the women placed 8th overall and the men earned 9th!
Rowan earned 9th on our All Wells Top Ten Times – her first time!
Qulik Evans is now 3rd on our top ten in the 100FLY! He also moved up from 10th to 8th on our All Wells Top Ten times.
