United East Announces Executive Committee Leadership Changes

LATHAM, N.Y. – Wells College Director of Athletics and Physical Education Mike Lindberg joined three others as part of The United East Executive Committee, the conference announced today.

Lindberg will team with Chair Rahsaan Carlton as Vice Chair as part of The United East Board of Athletic Directors after assuming that role this past summer.

Carlton, from Penn State Harrisburg, steps in for Pete Beers from Lancaster Bible who transitioned to the role of Interim Vice President for Traditional Undergraduate Education last spring.

The other members who will be serving on the Executive Committee, also with two-year terms, includes Dr. Roberta Cordano and Dr. Tommy Kiedis.

President Cordano from Gallaudet University has assumed the role of Presidents' Council Chair following the completion of a two-year term by Pennsylvania College of Technology's Dr. Davie Jane Gilmour. Cordano previously served as the Presidents' Council Vice Chair since June 2019.

Joining Dr. Cordano on the United East Executive Committee is Dr. Kiedis from Lancaster Bible College, who will serve as the Presidents' Council Vice Chair. Kiedis will hold this position for two years before being elevated to the role of Chair.

"We are truly grateful to Dr. Davie Gilmour and Pete Beers for their service to the conference the last two years as both played a pivotal role in the evolution of the United East," added United East Commissioner Stephanie Dutton.

"We know the new members of our Executive Committee will continue to push our conference forward with steadfast leadership and we appreciate their willingness to serve for this upcoming term."

These four individuals will represent their respective constituent groups on the Executive Committee as well as work closely with United East Commissioner Dutton on any issues that arise within the conference.

The United East Executive Committee also includes Conference Athletics Direct Report Cindy Speaker of Wells College and Conference Faculty Athletics Representative Tom Zimmerman of Pennsylvania College of Technology.
