Men's Lacrosse: "On This Day" 4-25-17

"On This Day" is a Wells College Athletics feature designed to look back over the past three seasons when most of our 2020 seniors began play for the Express and what highlights happened to Wells' spring teams on this day on April 25

Men's Lacrosse: April 25, 2017

Wells College men's lacrosse goalkeeper Nick Hallinan was honored as the North Eastern Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending April 23, 2017. The freshman from Elbridge, N.Y. starred in two games for the Express last week.

Hallinan allowed six goals and stopped 21 shots in an 11-6 win over SUNY Polytechnic. It was the first-ever Wells men's lacrosse victory over SUNY Poly. In his second game of the week, he made a career-high 22 saves in a loss against Hilbert on Apr. 22. Hallinan went 1-1 on the week with an 8.50 goals-against average, a .717 save percentage, and 43 saves.

Hallinan claimed his second NEAC weekly award of the season. He was previously honored as Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending March 5. He ranks 16th among all NCAA Division III goalies in saves per game with 14.3 stops per contest on the year.
