'On This Day' Lamanna Leads Express Women’s Cross Country Team at Oswego

'On This Day' is a Wells College Athletics feature series taking a look back on events that occurred on this day, Sept. 6, six years ago in 2014.

OSWEGO, N.Y. – Katie Lamanna placed first amongst all student-athletes from the Wells College women's cross country team as they finished 13th amongst a talented field at the 5K Oswego State Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014.

The top-three teams included the Rochester Institute of Technology (28 points), followed by SUNY Cortland (54) and Ithaca (69).

Lamanna's time of 22:16.4 placed her 127th amongst the field of nearly 200 cross country runners. She was followed by senior Anastasia Benson in 158th place with a time of 23:55.3. Competing in her first race in nearly two years, Lindsey Guzewicz posted a time of 25:30.2.

Senior Veronica Frisenda, sophomore Bailey Brown and freshman Audrey Woolever finished 179th, 180th and 181st, respectively, while first year runner Amanda Bottorff finished with a time of 28:21.1 to place 184th. Freshmen Afton Noha and Katelyn Costello rounded out the field of runners from Wells.
