'On This Day' Women's Cross Country Team Takes Top-Three Spots

'On This Day' is a Wells College Athletics feature series taking a look back on events that occurred on this day, Sept. 28, nine years ago in 2011.

AURORA, N.Y. – The Wells College women's cross country team earned the top three times as the Express ran past Keuka College with 19 points to the Storms 37 in the dual meet held Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 28, 2011, in Aurora.

Emily Middlebrook paced the Express finishing first overall with a time of 21:26.37, Lindsey Guzewicz crossed the finish line in second with a time of 22:43.33, while teammate Brienne Goodson placed third with a time of 23:41.22.

Anastasia Benson placed fifth for the Express with a time of 24:35.25, Veronica Frisenda took eighth with a time of 25:36.35, Sarah Deschenes placed 10th with a time of 27:55.70, and Tara Wild crossed the finish line in 12th with a time of 29:21.16.
