'On This Day' is a Wells College Athletics feature series taking a look back on events that occurred on this day, Jan. 24, three years ago in 2018.

The night started and ended with recognition of five Wells seniors who were competing in the final home meet of their Wells careers – Kaitlyn Schwend, Arthur Brooks, Owen May, Ian Ronan, and Shawn Snell were honored in a pre-meet ceremony.

The latter four men closed the meet by swimming the 200-yard freestyle relay and winning with a time of 1:53.76. Owen May swam 1:08.10 in the 100-yard butterfly and moved into ninth on the Wells record board in that event. May was second in the 200 IM.
