'On This Day' Women’s Soccer Team Nets Fourth Win on Sloan Game Winner

'On This Day' is a Wells College Athletics feature series taking a look back on events that occurred on this day, Sept. 23, fourteen years ago in 2006.

CHAMBERSBURG, PA. – The Wells College Express women's soccer team picked up win number four in 2006 with a 2-0 shutout over Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pa. on Sept. 23.

Elizabeth Sloan picked up the game-winning goal with just under 10 minutes gone in the game from Laurissa Reitz.

The Express extended its lead in the 68th minute when the Phoenix put the ball into its own net.

The Express held a 20-12 advantage in shots on goal, out-shooting the Phoenix in each half of play.

Claire Petersen earned her first shutout of the season making eight saves.
