Schwartz Athletic Center Lower Gym Scheduled for Limited Re-opening

The Lower Gym in the Schwartz Athletic Center will be open this weekend with strict limitations* (see below) in place. No competitive activity will be permitted. The schedule includes tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 11 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., followed by Saturday, Sept. 12 and Sunday, Sept. 13 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Updates will be given as they become available. The schedule for the month of September will be announced next week and is based on the availability of facility managers and compliance with health and safety protocols.

Bring your Wells I.D., daily clearance verification, mask and supplies to the check-in desk while noting other rules below.

Schedule:

Friday, September 11:  7 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Saturday, September 12:  12:30 p.m.- 3:30 p.m.

Sunday, September 13:  12:30 p.m.- 3:30 p.m.

*Rules for Use:

  • The Gym will be open to Wells students, faculty and staff only.
  • Capacity for the use of the gym will be limited to 10 people at one time (per NYS regulations).
  • Anyone using the gym must check in at the desk located at the Lower Gym's Main Entrance.
  • The West Doors of the Lower Gym are for EXIT ONLY.
  • Anyone using the gym must show a Wells College ID
  • Anyone using the gym must show the Daily Health Screen Clearance Email (Green Check Mark for that day).
  • Everyone using the gym must supply their own sport equipment, towels, and water bottles.
  • Everyone using the gym must wear a face covering at all times (per NYS Regulations)
  • Hands must be sanitized before and after use of the gym
  • All equipment used must be sanitized after use.
  • NO COMPETITIVE ACTIVITY (E.G. PICK-UP BASKETBALL,  SOCCER, OR VOLLEYBALL) IS PERMITTED UNTIL AFTER SEPTEMBER 21ST (per NCAA and NYS Regulations governing all High Risk Sports).+

+Competitive activity (e.g  pick-up games) will be assessed after September 21st and dependent upon the College testing and screening data.  If the data warrants, competitive activities may be phased-in.
