'On This Day' Wilson Pair Downs Wilson for Women’s Soccer Team

'On This Day' is a Wells College Athletics feature series taking a look back on events that occurred on this day, Oct. 6, thirteen years ago in 2007.

The women's soccer team started its first win streak of the season after a 2-0 road shutout win at Chamberburg, Pa., on Oct. 6, 2007, against Wilson College.

Michaela Wilson had a team-high 14 shots to lead Wells with both of its goals. The pair of unassisted tallies came about 15 minutes apart. Wilson's 14 shot attempts were more than what the entire Wilson College team could muster against the Express.

Wells beat Alfred University by a 2-1 score in its previous contest with Wilson assisting on the tying goal at 1-1 and netting the game winner. It was the third-consecutive contest for the Express with two goals for in each.

Claire Peterson registered the shutout against Wilson with five saves. Peterson now has back-to-back wins after recording a dozen saves against Alfred.
